Pesarattu, also called as childaa, is a crepe-like bread unique to Telugu & Konkani cuisine. It is eaten both in breakfast and as a snack. The main ingredient for this dosa is whole moong.

Green gram also known as moong bean, mung gram is a very commonly used lentil in the Indian cuisine. Mung beans are light yellow in colour when their skins are removed.

Don't forget to soak a cup of these lentils in adequate water the previous night. Grind the soaked moong the next morning, to a fine batter in a blender. Adjust the salt as per taste. Garnish the dosa with onions and green chilies and you are ready to start your day. Now isn't this easy?

What you'll need:

1 cup green gram

2 cups of water

Salt as per taste

1 onion thinly sliced

2 green chilies - sliced into thin rings

1/2 cup cooking oil

How to:

Drain the lentils and grind coarsely. Add enough water to the batter while grinding to make a dropping consistency. Heat the flat bottom pan, splash some water over it and immediately pour some batter and spread out. Drizzle oil around its edges. Sprinkle a few pieces of onions and chillies and allow to cook for a minute. Flip the dosa when the upper side looks cooked. Allow to cook for another minute after flipping the dosa until the onions turn golden brown. Serve the dosa hot with green chutney or some pickle
