Asparagus stirfry

This is a quick 5 min asparagus recipe to make when you are totally crunched for time and have to come with something real quick. If the asparagus are young and not woody, give them a thorough wash and you are ready. On the other hand if they are woody peel the outer green portion with your usual potato peeler. This way the tough woody parts are removed and you are left with the delicate meaty interiors. Cut each stem into two pieces and you are good to go.

What you'll need :

1 tbsp butter, tsp of olive oil 1 bunch asparagus 1/2 tsp salt (or any flavoured salt) 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

How to :

In a non-stick pan, heat some butter over high heat. Add a tsp of olive oil so that the butter doesn't burn. Add the asparagus, salt and pepper. Stir fry for around 3-4 minutes until they turn soft.

You could add several different types of flavouring to asparagus as per your taste. Finely grate garlic and add it to butter before you stir-fry. I used wasabi sesame salt instead of normal sea salt to give an additional kick to this nutty veggie. You could even add some chilli flakes to turn up the heat or some chilli flavoured salt will also do the trick.

Serve these asparagus with half fry - a very popular breakfast recipe or as a side of veggies for your lunch or dinner. I usually do not prefer an oozing half fried egg, so I just wrap them in a very thin omelette more like a crepe with some cheese and have it for my breakfast.
